University Authorized AI platforms are AI environments that have been vetted and approved for general use by UMW IT and leadership. Authorized platforms generally include enhanced data protection, access control, and audit logging that non-UMW AI tools do not provide.

Identification as an authorized platform does not guarantee that the platform is appropriate for use in every context. Check with your instructor or supervisor before use with class or work projects.

UMW’s authorized AI platforms are:

• NebulaOne – an AI aggregator allowing access to several popular AI models and custom agent-building capabilities within the data protection and other safeguards of UMW’s Microsoft environment.
• Microsoft Copilot – an AI chatbot included with UMW’s Microsoft 365 subscription offering data-protected chats using OpenAI’s GPT models.
