Non-UMW AI Tools
UMW faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to use University authorized AI platforms whenever possible, but in some circumstances it may be necessary or preferable to use non-UMW AI tools. Use of these tools is permitted when working with public/non-sensitive data only, and all activity must comply with UMW’s Artificial Intelligence Acceptable Use policy. {link}
Student use of AI tools in UMW classes is at the discretion of the instructor. Students should consult the syllabus and/or their instructor before using AI in coursework.
Employees interested in purchasing or subscribing to non-UMW AI platforms must first get approval via the Non-standard IT purchase process.
